Route Driver

Job description          

The Route Driver is responsible for driving truck responsibly and safely. Responsible for safe, secure transport of confidential materials; loading/unloading as assigned. Meet internal and external customer needs in a professional manner. Adhere to N.A.I.D. standards. RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Responsible for driving truck responsibly and safely. Responsible for safe, secure transport of confidential materials; loading/unloading as assigned. Meet internal and external customer needs in a professional manner. Adhere to N.A.I.D. standards. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 1. Perform daily operations per DataShield Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
2. Drive responsibly and safely, following assigned schedules and routes, securely load/unload material as required within SOP WI-DD-003 Drivers Manual.
3. Maintain professional demeanor and provide courteous customer service to internal and external customers and other contacts.
4. Prior to operation, complete and submit a daily vehicle condition report and immediately notify maintenance of repair needs.
5. Complete other reports/forms as requested in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
6. Maintain vehicle interior in clean and orderly fashion and provide for exterior cleaning as assigned.
7. Wear assigned uniform and/or Goodwill Identification while on duty.
8. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
9. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: 1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Two years' experience driving truck.
3. Valid Driver's License.
4. Driving record acceptable to insurance carrier. CORE COMPETENCIES: 1. Ability to safely operate a truck.
2. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
3. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and other contacts in a professional manner.
4. Working knowledge of safe working practices and DOT and other rules and regulations pertaining to assigned work environment.
5. Ability to work varied work schedule and flexible hours.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
1. Full range of motion.
2. Ability to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
3. Ability to listen and communicate effectively and professionally in written and verbal form.
4. Capable of meeting physical demand required for commercial drivers license.
