We are now expanding our coverage to include real estate investing through our new brand Millionacres, which aims to do for real estate investing what The Motley Fool did for equities. We provide comprehensive and unbiased guidance for real estate investors of all sophistication levels, spanning free content, available on Millionacres.com, and paid premium services that include specific recommendations on investment opportunities.
As our Operations Specialist, your priorities will be varied, but largely split among two categories: first, assisting the growth of our free site, Millionacres.com; and second, supporting our paid and premium services. Performing well in both of these will mean working closely with our Operations Director to identify the most important projects for us to achieve next. You’ll need to understand the roadmap and key business drivers for Millionacres and constantly find ways to accelerate and smooth our trajectory.
We expect you to anticipate problems before they occur, to remove bottlenecks proactively, and to accelerate our team’s pace - all in an effort to help the team achieve our ambitious growth goals. You will need to collaborate with every member of the team, from investing to member services, from editorial to tech, in order to support each person’s initiatives and those of the team overall. This will require a keen understanding of how the priorities align with our roadmap and an ability to communicate that to the team and individuals.
What you’ll be doing:
Working closely with our Operations Director to continually identify the most important work and, in turn, communicating and collaborating with the team to Get. Stuff. Done.
Updating our many Trello boards, Slack channels, and Google Docs to maintain the status of current priorities and work backlogs
Investigating and removing blockers for team members; finding solutions to problems big and small
Supporting various workflows, in particular publishing on our free and premium sites
Working with our editors to support their ramp of content production and improve the efficiency and speed with which they bring content to our site, Millionacres.com
Coordinating our contract writers and managing their onboarding, training, and payments
Touching base with the various members of the Millionacres team to ensure our efforts are coordinated, and converging towards our goals
Participating in regular team scrums and check ins
Excellent communication skills across mediums (verbal, written, video conferencing) and with all relevant stakeholders
An ability to understand and appreciate both the big picture and the small details of projects
Experience managing various aspects of operations for a digital business; bonus points for experience with subscription businesses
Working knowledge of common workflow and productivity tools e.g., Trello, Slack, G-Suite; experience with HubSpot and Zendesk a plus
An ability to selflessly support individuals and the team in pursuit of team goals
