General Foreperson - Night Shift – ALS Reg 77

Job description          

We are currently seeking a General Foreperson to join our American Lighting & Signalization, LLC team in the Street Light Construction and Maintenance Department. Essential Functions: Primary Function is supervising, monitoring, and coaching crews while work is being performed. Supervises the crew to ensure proper administration of training, disciplinary action, work production, adherence to safety practices and interpretation of polices. Responsible for training crews on proper job briefing techniques and work tasks and ensure hazards associated with the job are mitigated. Required to perform six Job Briefing Observations per week. Provide daily communication with the client s representatives. Directs the crew members on specific job tasks. Receives and interprets orders by the coordinator of utilities. Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies. Enforces safety practices and obtains permission from property owners to perform work. Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of records. Assists with accident reports and incident investigations. Responsible for job cost control. Responsible for inspections, proper working conditions and necessary repairs to tools and equipment. Assists with field training to crew members on new equipment. Directs emergency situations. Confers with customers, property owners, general public, other contractors and representatives of utilities and governmental agencies. Meets with Manager, Utility Coordinator, Safety Representatives and others. Employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments, poisonous plants or reptiles, and stinging insects. Working hours are typically 10 hours per night. Responsible for accurate work reporting and verifying/tallying invoicing totals. Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed. Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies. All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors. Provide daily communication with the client s representatives. Directs the crew members on specific job tasks. Minimum Requirements: Must be able to identify the hazards on the job. Must have cognition to solve problems. Must be able to read & follow prints Must be able to visualize the job build Must wear Personal Protective Equipment such as a Hard Hat, work gloves, eye protection, and FR clothing at a minimum when working on the ground. Must be able to follow directions, work safely & productively Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work. Must have a valid Driver s license. Must pass a background check and pass a motor vehicle records check. Must be able to pass a DOT physical in order to obtain a DOT medical card. Must be able to wear necessary PPE as required by company policy Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day. Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold Must be able to traverse various terrains. Must be able to communicate with others. Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the appropriate equipment and tools. Must have transportation to and from the show up location. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Must be able to pass a background check.
