Education Not Applicable Job Description SCOPE: The Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the facility in a functional, presentable, and safe condition. This position is seasonal and is staffed as necessary in response to fluctuating business operations. All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHS is recognized. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform and/or provide direction and support for the following services: Maintain program facility in a safe, functional and presentable manner. Assist in performing general repair/maintenance to include, but not limited to electrical, building, plumbing, landscaping, painting, carpentry, and basic remodeling. Ensure all maintenance equipment and supplies are accounted for at all times. Assist in maintaining inventory and security of all maintenance equipment and supplies related to the facility and grounds. Respond to all work orders in a timely manner. Request maintenance supplies and equipment as needed from maintenance supervisor or designee. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created. Gather and remove litter from inside facilities and/or outside on facility grounds. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features. Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned. Job Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years’ experience working in a facility setting or completed a formal trade program focused on facility maintenance. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, basic construction knowledge and skills. Cleared background check and drug screen from appropriate entity. Bilingual in both the English and Spanish language. Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to ascend/descend stairs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to communicate verbally and listen for constant surveillance of children’s activities. Ability to stand; particularly for sustained periods of time. Able to receive and understand detailed information through oral communication. Able to withstand changing environmental conditions with the weather (rain, lightning, and winds).
