Audit Analyst

Job Summary: Audit Analyst is responsible for assisting the Audit Practices Manager in providing leadership to the Audit Department in respect to how work is conducted – the practice of internal audit. This position will report to the Audit Practices Manager and help in ensuring maximum productivity in the department by assisting in the maintenance of staff scheduling for the audit projects, performance of quality assurance reviews over completed audits, and assistance in the gathering of documentation, information and statistics for analysis of metrics and data for reporting purposes. Job Responsibilities: Assists the Audit Practices Manager in maintaining and communicating staff schedules and availability in relation to Internal Audit Projects and deadlines. Assists in compiling quarterly Enterprise Executive Risk Committee and Audit Committee reports as well as Internal Audit metric reporting. Performs Quality Assurance reviews over completed audits to ensure compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditor Standards and internal standards and compiles Quality Assurance review results and reports for manager. Gathers information and documentation requests made by regulators. Performs initial review of Internal Audit Issue Management business closure requests for secondary review by the Audit Practices Manager. Creates and maintains Internal Audit progress reports and status reports to identify and analyze trends and provide transparency to Internal Audit leadership. Maintains Internal Audit’s agreements with Third-Party Service Providers. Updates Internal Audit policies, procedures and charters. Maintains membership status to professional organizations for the audit team. Trains new employees on audit specific content. Performs other duties as assigned as this is a newly created role. Required Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or the like required. 2 years of financial industry audit experience required. Strong understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors Standards. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office. Work Environment/Physical Demands: This position is largely self-directed, and requires a thorough understanding of company policy, procedures and values. Team members are always required to adhere to safety requirements in all work environments. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Lifting requirement – Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily with interruptions and/or distractions. Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
