Assistant Branch Manager

Employment Type: Regular Employment Status.: Full-Time Job Category: Branch Average weekly hours: 40 FLSA Type: May be Exempt or Non-exempt Required Schedule Availability: Mon-Fri:Between the hrs. of 8am & 6:30pm some Sat/Sun between 9:45-4:15pm Position Overview The Assistant Branch Manager assists with management of the branch by directing the day-to-day operation of a branch; helping to ensure the attainment of sales goals and excellent customer service; and keeping the branch well maintained and in working order. In addition, the Assistant Branch Manager may be required to perform functional duties. Essential Functions Assist in the development, management and evaluation of a successful sales, service and referral culture within the team. Establish goals, benchmarks and measurements for member satisfaction, sales and referrals. Ensure the integration of SELCO Service Promises and Specialized Services. Assist with management of departmental functions, audits and quality and internal control-related tasks. Assist with resolving difficult situations, complex issues, problems and complaints. Mentor and coach team members to achieve desired levels of performance; assist with evaluating and determining necessary training needs. Meet regularly with direct reports to communicate individual and team performance goals; review and monitor progress towards goals and measure results to track success of sales culture Assist with the management of the team to ensure team staffing and performance objectives are met including the selection of staff, assigning and reviewing work, provide effective feedback and regular reviews of individual performance, and recommend necessary employment actions. Assist with the development and maintenance of systems and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies and procedures. Work directly with Members on a wide variety of services and advise them how to best use SELCO products and services to meet personal financial goals. This services include, but are not limited to, opening new accounts; processing credit card/loan applications; handling outgoing wires; providing notary services; assisting with teller transactions; answering questions; facilitating contact with specialized services and subject matter experts; suggesting Credit Union products and services. Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor with team members, management, and members. Exhibit a spirit of team work within the branch team and with other departments. Handle member and team member interactions in person in an efficient, friendly and accurate manner. Adhere to federal and state regulations, Credit Union policies, and other compliance obligations. Consistently achieve stated goals. Actively participate in security, disaster recovery, fire training, and other meetings and training as requested. Demonstrate leadership skills and maintain Corporate Values, Mission Statement, and Service Promises. Represent the Credit Union with a high level of integrity and professionalism. Research, resolve and/or communicate issues and potential problems to management and/or other business units. Adapt to and endorse change to support Credit Union goals and direction. Perform other duties as assigned. Interaction and Environment Reports To: Branch Manager Supervises: Branch Team Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with background noise. Position may involve extended work hours, including weekends and travel to multiple locations. Material and Equipment Used Computer, Fax Machine, Calculator, Scanner/Copier, Phone, Tablet, General Office Supplies Physical Activities Required To Perform Essential Functions Mobility: Approximately 70% of time is spent working at a desk. Balance of time (approximately 30%) is spent moving around work areas. Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with others in person, in writing, and over the phone. Vision: Ability to effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other appropriate paperwork. Lifting/Carrying: Ability to handle a variety of equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to access files/stock supplies in low cabinets and shelves. Reaching/Handling: Ability to input information into computer systems and retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment and supplies. Proficiencies Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with and lead individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Possess sound computer skills in and the ability to learn and use a variety of computer system and technology. Strong analytical ability with active listening skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor. Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality and accuracy. Willingness and ability to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines. Ability to complete or resume tasks despite interruptions and concentrate in environment with background noise. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent; and Minimum two (2) years of service-related experience; and Minimum two (2) years of team leadership or supervisory experience; and Must maintain Active Federal Registration with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System; and Possess a valid Oregon Drivers’ License; and Must be bondable.
