We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our Quality team in Portland, OR.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who is not only comfortable taking on tasks and projects assigned to them, but who also has the vision and skills to build systems from scratch and find order in chaos. We are looking for the pragmatic candidate who tackles challenges head-on and is solution-oriented. This role will report directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible for ensuring company compliance with all necessary regulatory documents and required retention standards. This includes the following:
Ensure Lazarus Naturals is compliant with all regulatory and licensing requirements in accordance with company, state, and federal regulations.
Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that keep Lazarus Naturals products, processes, and physical sites operating in a legal and ethical manner.
Conduct audits, investigations, recommend areas for improvement and develop remediation strategies when non-compliance events occur.
Develop corrective action techniques to ensure and maintain future compliance.
Act as a liaison between Lazarus Naturals and regulatory agencies.
Continuously monitor compliance and proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
Maintain appropriate regulatory documentation and supply when necessary to organizational areas.
Develop and manage a robust regulatory document filing, tracking, storage, and retrieval system.
Maintain document renewal, retention, and archive schedules.
Coordinate confidential compliance reporting avenues and maintain all associated records.
Coordinate with management teams to facilitate training, including assisting with content creation, training events, and record keeping.

BA/BS or equivalent combination of education, training, and related business experience.
Minimum 2 years experience in a Document Control position.
Broad understanding of operations compliance.
Familiarity with regulatory agencies and associated requirements.
Exceptional computer skills with Document Management System, MS Office, G Suite, and SQL experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of compliance in a food facility including GMP, HACCP, and FSMA.
Understanding of transportation compliance including DOT and FMCSA.
ISO/IEC 27000 Information Security Management System standards.
Previous experience in meeting OSHA requirements.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage and organize multiple tasks.
Requires the ability to produce results in a fast-paced environment.
