The Team Lead, Shipping is responsible for improving the effectiveness of the shipping process and to provide leadership to ensure the team meets or exceeds goals in critical success areas such as safety, quality, customer service, innovation, and cost. The Team Lead works as a part of the Shipping team while giving importance to individual member’s and overall team’s achievement of established goals.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Leads a performance oriented team through a positive attitude using team building skills that encourage cooperation.
Communicates and trains through a strong understanding of the processes and quality required.
Provides the handling and processing support for shipping, inventory control and warehouse organization.
Trains and assists employees to ensure proper procedures are followed.
Ensures efficient productivity is achieved and department standards are met.
Perceives problems as they develop and communicates such to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintains communication with management and other department personnel as needed to achieve customer satisfaction.
Optimizes safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives through employee involvement and a team building approach to problem solving.
Strives for continuous improvement and total employee involvement.
Ensures directives and procedures are being followed according to company guidelines.
Identifies, isolates and facilitates resolution of shipping, warehousing and inventory problems.
Safely operates equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage, and when loading/unloading trucks. Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials
Maintains a sense of urgency, exhibit a bias toward actions on getting the job done on schedule and with 100% accuracy.
Two years related experience
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Microsoft Office, Oracle, Internet
Drive for Results
Lift truck certification
