Position Description: This is a part-time (27.5 hours per week), nine-month, temporary position. This position is an integral part of the college admissions team, assisting with the implementation of a variety of college-wide recruitment activities and initiatives. The Admissions Coordinator is expected to represent the college at a variety of venues, including open houses, college fairs, high schools and other community events and is also expected to provide exemplary service to our students and their families, the college, our professional colleagues, and external contacts and agencies. Provides support with various admissions procedures to other members of the Admissions Department team. Non-traditional hours, extra hours, and outside training may be required. Essential Functions: Represents Jamestown Community College (JCC) both on- and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Plans and implements recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories, including travel in and out of state during the recruitment cycle. Coordinates and contributes to the success of various student visit programs designed to recruit prospective applicants to JCC. Participates in new student orientation programs, campus retention programs, commencement events and other special events designed to recruit and retain students. Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, manages ongoing strategic communications with high school and independent counselors, including email, print, and other media. Assists in the development and delivery of on-campus events and programs for counseling groups and individuals. Works in cooperation with members of the Admissions Office team to implement and fulfill the objectives of the college’s Strategic Enrollment Plan. Develops student leadership skills through collaborative work in planning and implementing recruitment and retention events and programs. Counsels prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at JCC. Reviews admissions materials submitted by applicants for the purposes of making admission decisions. Admissions counseling occurs primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls, emails and live chat. Performs all other related duties as required or assigned. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year experience in student services in a higher education setting. Knowledge of student recruitment and admissions. Preferred: Master’s degree plus one (1) year of admissions and recruitment experience in a higher education setting. Additional Information: Salary: $22.81 - $25.66/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus excellent benefits package.
