Prevention Navigator

Job description          

The Southern Tier AIDS Program, Inc. is seeking a Prevention Navigator in their Binghamton office. This position provides confidential linkage and navigation services to men and young men of color, with a focus on: men in sexual relationships whose status is unknown, men with a history of incarceration, men involved in sex work, men who have sex with men, and men living with HIV seeking prevention and harm reduction education services. Provides these services through the CoC Men's Project. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Health, Education, Social Work, Liberal Arts, or a related field plus 2 years of experience preferred. Relevant experience in human services or community based organization may be substituted for degree requirement. Prior experience facilitating groups and delivering HIV prevention programs preferred; knowledge of community resources; comfortable with and possessing expertise working with communities of color required, prior case management experience preferred. Computer literacy required. Basic knowledge of social networking media and website design desired. Good organizational skills, communication skills, public speaking, and presentation skills are essential. Salary: $15.39/hour working 35-hours per week, may vary depending upon experience.
