Operations Manager

Job description          

As an Operations Manager of Pharmacy Specialty Operations, you will be responsible for organizing, directing and controlling the activities of professional or non- professional personnel to ensure that prescription orders are filled, checked, and shipped in an efficient and cost effective manner to achieve exceptional customer service and business profitability. Furthermore, you will direct the filling and shipping department of the Fulfillment Center to ensure that prescriptions are filled and shipped accurately and efficiently.
Ensure efficient “throughput“ of work within the filling, quality control and shipping areasEnsure proper usage and management of any/all overtimeMentor and develop the team – Build your bench….next you, next Sups, etc.Learn and understand Lean/Six Sigma ideology and how to use in day to day work functionsLook at continuous improvements – work with all employees, level I through ManagementWork on setting up daily goals and metrics – look to meet or exceed dailyEnsure efficiency reviews and talks with employees – need to meet or exceed efficiency standardsWill be responsible and respond to any/all Security, Safety and Facilities issues and escalationsOversees compliance with State and Federal regulations for designated teamsManage the P & L to ensure profitability throughout the processMeet with managers and directors of other departments to discuss cross-departmental issues and identify potential solutionsActively participate in the interviewing and selection of staffProvide coaching and counseling or disciplinary action when necessaryWork with Procurement (NBT Team) to review and monitor contracts and product acquisitionMonitor and review current contracts for pharmaceuticals, shipping, and other related supplies and servicesMeet with vendors to ensure contract adherence and to negotiate enhancements to services provided
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experienceFive years or more experience in a production/operations environmentExtensive Logistics/Warehouse experience to evaluate work and process flow to ensure optimal efficiencies - At least three - five years of management experience
1 year or more of Budgetary and P&L management experience with analytical ability to make cost effective decisionsExperience in a high intensity, fast paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business management, engineering, logistics or a related healthcare operations fieldExcellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsExperience in back end pharmacy
Education
Associate's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience
