Description This is a unique employment opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Custodial Leader for the Office of the Capitol Commission. This position is integral to the Capitol's maintenance of the historic nature of the building and maintaining it for occupants and visitors. The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills. The ability to demonstrate professionalism and possess a constant commitment to excellence, and share in our mission of preservation and providing service to the occupants and public in the Capitol. This position will require the successful candidate to be well organized and self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple tasks and take directives from several sources. Examples of Work - Responsible for the custodial maintenance of restrooms. - Coordinate recycling schedules and remove recycling from offices. - Work with Tour Staff on event setup in the Capitol. - Respond to emergency calls from Security or Maintenance. - May be called in on weekend for event set up or emergency cleaning. - Supervise contract custodian. - Take care of customer requests. - Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies. - Use of carpet extractors and wet/dry vacuums for carpet cleaning. - May be asked to help with snow removal. Qualifications / Requirements Experience in commercial or institutional cleaning.

PREFERRED: Experience with custodial methods and practices. Supervisory experience. Good communication skills. Ability to respond to weekend emergencies. Ability to be on your feet for 6 or more hours per day and lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

OTHER: Regular and reliable attendance. Must be able to pass background check. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals, as well as custodial methods and practices. Ability to be on your feet for 6 or more hours per day and lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
