Job Summary: As a Highway Design Technician, you’ll have the opportunity to be instrumental member in preparing, designing and shaping our client deliverables for our local traffic/transportation market. Working with members of our local and regional team, you will have supporting resources and independence to apply, grow and develop your skill sets in the transportation field. As part of a large firm, you will have opportunities to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects utilizing your cadd and design expertise. Our business thrives on cross-functional, client-focused teams to develop high-quality detailed deliverables that reinforces our commitment to quality for our clients and leads to repeat opportunities. This candidate will support the growth of our Nebraska transportation business in the Southwestern region of BIAF while also having opportunities to engage existing work in other states and regions. Qualifications Associates degree from a College or Diploma from Technical Engineering/Drafting program or related discipline is preferred (experience may be substitute in lieu of education) More than 8 years of progressive technical cadd/design background in at least one of the following areas: cadd, civil design, highway or roadway design, as well as familiarity with AASHTO standards is highly desired Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design Software MicroStation with Geopak/Inroads is preferred and Civil 3D is a plus (being navigable in multiple cad platforms is added plus) Experience in developing Local agency or NDOT client deliverables Ability to manipulate Microstation plot drivers, pen tables and workspace configurations Familiarity with Microstation Projectwise Ability to learn and adapt new software Ability to problem solve/troubleshoot technical software issues A self-starter with ability to work independently #bia Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
