We are looking for a full time Lube and Tire Service Technician to understand, implement and continually follow the Savage Maintenance Program for all mobile equipment and material handling systems at the SavageEnergy Terminal Operation in Price, UT. The ultimate goal is to maintain all equipment and systems in such a fashion that everything is always operating at peak efficiency in the safest manner possible.
Safely perform routine services, including; change/adjust brakes, change/mount tires, grease the conveyor belts, replace/repair lights, check/fill gear boxes, change oil/filters, check/change wheel bearings, change springs, clutch adjustment/replacement, understand/repair air brake system, understand/repair steering components, steam-clean tractor/trailer units and general cleanup duties
Develop a system for determining equipment needs, reducing progressive maintenance
Read and understand oil sample results to trouble shoot problems
Preform maintenance duties in the shop, yard, field and roadside on service calls
Keep the fleet up to Savage and D.O.T. regulations by preforming maintenance at the most economical, cost effective manner, while taking into account operating life, safety, and replacement considerations
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Supervisor or Operation Manager
Must be familiar with computers and have an understanding of maintenance systems, truck, engine and transmission diagnostics software
Must be familiar with recordkeeping as it pertains to maintenance and D.O.T. regulations
Must have a sufficient amount of personal tools to effectively maintain equipment
Must be proficient at welding steel and aluminum; cutting using torch and plasma
Need to understand the importance of scheduling equipment for servicing;
Must have experience working on equipment that operates in harsh environments
Must understand and have experience working with air brakes and hydraulics
Must have a good working knowledge of Diesel engine systems and all aspects of diagnosing, repair and maintenance of the systems
Must understand their own limitations and know when to ask for help
Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position.
High School Diploma/GED
Prefer one year of previous experience as a Lube Technician
Must be able to work in adverse conditions (heat and cold); time is split between a shop and outdoor environment
Must be physically able to handle heavy parts and pieces of equipment
Climb on and off the equipment
Physically demanding work will be a daily function of this position
Must be able to climb, crawl, and position their body in such a way that they can perform their required duties
This person should be able to frequently lift 100 lbs
