HSE Coordinator

Job description          

RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports and leads the Surface Business Unit compliance efforts. Monitors regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local requirements related to training, recordkeeping, permits, reports, policies and procedures and other related compliance issues. Frequent contact within and outside of department to furnish and obtain information. Answers inquiries and responds to correspondence. Provide diverse HSE administrative support which includes maintaining smooth operation of the office, receive guests, handle departmental mail, screen and direct calls, and maintain both electronic and hard copy files. Compiles and submits quarterly, semi-annual, and annual statistical reports for consortiums, customers and auditors. Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent years of experience. At least four years of related experience. Knowledge of DOT recordkeeping preferred. Stays abreast of laws, industry trends and practices to improve efficiency and recommend process improvements. Strong focus on attention to details and accuracy. Solid verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate. Excellent human relations skills with ability to manage sensitive employment matters and maintain confidentiality. Proficient using advanced features of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to use department-specific software packages and databases. Strong analytical and problem solving skills related to functional areas and understanding impact to the overall business. Able to rely on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job. Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities. Possesses ingenuity and initiative to coordinate problem resolution and ability to predict the effects of changes in operating programs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. Occasional offsite meetings. This job description is a general description of essential job functions.
