Van Driver/Laundry Attendant/Room Attendant floater (Full time /Part time Available) - Days Inn - Fargo, ND

This position is a floater position as Van Driver, Laundry Attendant, and Room Attendant. Full time and Part time positions available.

This position requires the driver to be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass a drug test. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Comprehend and abide by all traffic regulations while transporting customers to and from the train yard or other designated site. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergencies. Listen, understand and respond immediately to customer and employee inquiries and requests for assistance. Greet customers with a friendly and sincere welcome. Lift luggage, packages and boxes from cars, buses, vans and carts, placing items on the ground or onto baggage carts, whenever necessary. Clearly communicate the features and services of the hotel facilities. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel. Maintain an alert and attentive demeanor. Maintain cleanliness of the hotel vehicle by cleaning and washing it, when appropriate. Take vehicle for periodic servicing and fueling, as required. Other duties as assigned, such as assisting with lobby maintenance, grounds maintenance, process laundry, stock maid carts, or clean rooms, assist at the front desk or in the diner. Report all suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions to the Manager on Duty and follow all other safety regulations. Turn in all items found in employee work area to General Manager. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English, sufficient to ascertain and document appropriate pick-up and drop-off points, etc. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage weighing up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs and walking distances throughout the property. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
BIG PICTURE: LAUNDRY ATTENDANT JOB SUMMARY The Laundry Attendant maintains constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. Performs all stages of linen processing, including collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading and unloading (washers, dryers and chutes), ironing, folding, storing and delivering. Cleans laundry machinery and laundry area.
High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
Comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Employees must, at all times, be friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees.
Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.
Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc., as directed by management.
Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of day.
Always practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests and fellow employees.
Sweep and mop laundry floors storing all linens off the floor.
Be familiar with all Aimbridge Hospitality's policies and house rules.
Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
Maintain clean work area.
Attend meetings as required by management.
Perform any other duties as requested by management.
BIG PICTURE: ROOM ATTENDANT The Room Attendant will ensure that the highest standards for cleanliness, safety and sanitation are maintained throughout the hotel. They will respond promptly to requests from guests and, in some cases, from other departments, and will perform a variety of tasks to ensure a consistently clean, orderly, and attractive environment within guest rooms and public spaces. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Stock cart with appropriate supplies and transport cart to assigned section. Enter guest assigned guest rooms by following established procedure for gaining access and ensuring vacancy. Replace dirty linens and towels. Make beds. Clean bathrooms. Dust, polish and straighten desk and furnishings. Ensure all light fixtures and in-room appliances are in proper working conditions. Remove trash, recyclables and discarded items from room. Vacuum carpets and/or mop floors. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards. Greet, acknowledge and welcome guests according to company service standards. Anticipate and follow through on guests' service needs. Support other departments and fellow Room Attendant staff members, as needed. Perform deep cleaning tasks and other duties as needed and as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
