K&W Cafeterias is an 80-year old North Carolina based restaurant chain best known for their cafeteria style dining, a scratch made and diverse menu, and customer centric approach. With 30 locations and 2,300 employees throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, K&W is family-owned and operated. K&W plans to remain a nostalgic family brand, while focusing on growing the catering portion of the business, as well as developing new ideas and concepts for existing store locations.
The General Manager is responsible for leading store teams in driving sales, brand loyalty, providing exceptional customer service as well as developing and retaining their talent. This position has full accountability for the key financial results of the store and is responsible for the overall leadership and development of the store by building a high-performing team that is dedicated to achieving results and supporting company strategies. The Store Manager has a direct reporting relationship to the District Manager.
The General Manager will lead approximately 70 store employees while responsible for executing all company policies and programs to include: marketing, customer service, health and safety, sanitation, loss prevention, training and development, and human resources. The General Manager will demonstrate a high level of ownership for all things within the 4 walls of their business.
Demonstrate and direct the store team to provide outstanding customer service in an environment focused on sales
Train, develop, counsel, mentor and motivate all employees in a manner which builds and sustains a high performing team and minimizes turnover
Maximize productivity and efficiency through accurate and timely scheduling following all work rules, laws, and regulations.
Set and achieve the highest standards in line execution focusing on maximizing sales and gross profit
Plans menus taking into consideration available inventory, reusable leftovers, labor schedules, etc.
Understand and manage the finances of the store – food costs, labor, etc.
Ensure proper inventory levels through accurate ordering
Utilize reports and metrics to make sound business decisions
Maintain excellent food quality and safety by ensuring prescribed holding times, recipes, use of timers, etc.
Forecast and maintain store staff by collaborating with Human Resources in the sourcing, selecting, orienting, and on-boarding of new employees
Maintain the cleanliness of the store through utilizing programs, assigning tasks, and following up on the store cleaning schedule

Demonstrated ability to plan and organize store operations through the use of delegation skills
Demonstrated level of empowerment to solve customer complaints and develop employees to do the same
3 to 5 years’ experience as a restaurant store manager in relevant traffic, volume, and unit intensity. Made from scratch, cafeteria experience preferred.
