Experience in food preparation or service activities in a commercial kitchen; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Job Functions
The Food Service Assistant supports Appalachian Food Services vision to provide above and beyond customer service and Hospitality.
Duties of the position include:
Prepares food according to Unit guidelines and industry best practice.
Sets up serving lines before opening.
Keeps line stocked and clean.
Communicates with co-workers and Supervisors regarding any needs to support daily operations of the business.
All ASU Food Service employees are required to work during home football games or any other special campus event as needed. Campus work location may vary depending on the event.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Must have the ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, high-volume food service establishment.
Attention to detail skills as applied to food quality and presentation and a commitment to excellent customer service are required.
Previous food service experience.

Monday – Friday.
6:00 am – 3:00 pm.
The summer schedule will vary and may require rotating weekends.

Physical Demands of Position
Standing for long periods of time in place. Bending, pushing, pulling. Lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
