Center Manager/Family Development Specialist

Job description          

Position Statement: This position is a dual role. As a Center Manager, this position coordinates all center-related activities and oversees day-to-day operations for the facility (center). Additionally, The Center Manager is responsible for supervising, mentoring, coaching and training of center staff in order to ensure services are provided in a positive, nurturing environment for children, and maintains a quality environment with attention to health and safety prevention measures. This role also functions as liaison and information conduit between the main office leadership, staff and community collaborates. The Center Manager serves as an advocate for children, families and communities and is responsible for implementing the HS Performance Standards, NC Child Care Rules/Regulations, and the local, state and agencies policies and procedures. Also responsible for ensuring centers display a culture of safety and positive reinforcement with continuity of care to include active supervision strategies. Support center staff with encouraging parent family community engagement in all aspects of the program.
As a Family Development Specialist, you will provide quality, comprehensive support services to children/families participating in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This position will assist parents in enhancing their role as the primary influence in their child’s education and development. The Family Development Specialist will establish parental involvement in child developmental activities and educational programs along with working with parents to set goals and access appropriate support services. This position will be responsible for creating training programs and facilitating positive parent, school and student relationships. The Family Development Specialist will also determine participant eligibility and coordinate child/family enrollment. Status: FT-Exempt

Hours: M-F 8am - 5pm
