Kitware is actively seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our Medical Computing Team. The Medical Computing Team designs and develops image analysis and visualization software across a wide range of computing environments including but not limited to Windows, Unix/OS X, mobile, and web environments.The ideal candidate will:
Design flows, wireframes, and prototypes of interactive design and present to stakeholders Design and implement Graphical User Interfaces, while guiding other GUI development efforts on various technical projects Translate user needs and feedback into design requirements, then work closely alongside software developers as they iterate on prototypes to implement the design Research and develop tools and processes to continually improve the user experience with our software platforms, by incorporating and balancing developer needs, user personas, use cases, and technical restrictions Work with technical staff and customers to conduct usability tests and collect data on potential design improvements Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Human Interaction or related area, plus 3-5 years’ experience in UI/UX design, preferably in a technical/software industry, or equivalent amount of education and experience Portfolio of design projects including web, desktop, and/or mobile Experience using HTML/CSS Experience with industry-standard digital tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and interaction prototyping tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to present ideas and receive feedback from a variety of audiences Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control experience is preferred Experience with JavaScript is preferred Experience as a Qt Designer is preferred Company Description
