Responsible for maintenance of entire building, i.e. refrigeration, heating, plumbing, electrical, etc. Insures that all projects are completed. Works closely with any craftsmen and meet with management to discuss mechanical operations of the property. Checks daily log reports and maintains a flexible work schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintenance of the entire building, i.e., refrigeration, heating, plumbing, electrical, water treatment, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Responsible for ice machines, swimming pools, saunas, fitness rooms, walls, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, rooftop, and exhaust type units.
Insures that all projects are completed on time and according to the necessary specifications.
Works closely with any craftsmen called in to perform work. Aids and instructs craftsmen with scheduling of work, ordering of materials, and completing assignments as specified by the Hotel Manager or Corporate Representative.
Works closely with housekeeper and front office manager. Meets with Hotel Manager to discuss any phase of the operation that the maintenance department is involved with.
Evaluates requisitions for work or work orders and reports completion to Head Housekeeper or Hotel Manager as instructed.
Maintains a flexible work schedule to cover emergencies.
Responsible for training and orientation of new maintenance staff.
Attends all Department Staff meeting and presents any pertinent information to staff.
Supervises and coordinates maintenance, whether preventative or a project to accommodate Housekeeping or hotel occupancy.
May assist in hiring.
Generates various reports, as needed.
Other duties as assigned by Hotel Manager.

Job Specifications (Qualifications)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or vocational training in electronical, mechanical, architectural engineering, or plumbing field preferred. Three to five year’s prior experience in maintenance desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience in related field preferred. Should have working knowledge of plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and mechanics.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in concise and accurate form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Boilers license where applicable

Ability to work varied number of hours per week on a rotating basis.
