Imaging Tech II Cath Lab

Job description

This position will be split between Cath Lab and another modality. Cath Lab will be 1-2 shifts per week, plus call. The remainder of the schedule will be working in the other modality.
You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as an Imaging Tech II – Cath Lab.
Your compassion is tangible: whether your patient is 18 or 85, they feel it in the hand they hold. Families feel it in your prayers. Colleagues feel it in your support.
You know when to move quickly. When to sit quietly. When to laugh loudly.
You’re great at what you do, but you want to be part of something even greater. Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team is invincible.
St. James Healthcare is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our 98-bed hospital is the only full-service acute care facility in Butte, and we’re the largest hospital serving a seven-county area. Our mission is to bring health and hope to the poor, the vulnerable, our communities and each other.
Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family. Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage. But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mind and social well-being. To that end, we’ve launched a Healthy Living program to address your holistic health. Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobacco cessation, classes, counseling and paid time off. We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning.
Together we’ll align mission and careers, values and workplace. We’ll honor each other’s dignity and surpass the standards we set. We’ll encourage joy, demand safety and take pride in our integrity.
We’ll laugh at each other’s jokes (even the bad ones). We’ll hello and high five. We’ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.
We’re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn. And instead of placing blame we’ll learn and grow together.
Your day
As an Imaging Tech II – Cath Lab you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:
Access, manage and update patient medical records through Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System. Accurately access patient medical records Input physician’s orders appropriately to patient’s records Review documentation for ongoing patient care Communicate patient record with ancillary hospital services Maintain patient confidentiality as outlined by privacy and HIPAA guidelines Practice core competencies according to the ARRT Standards of Ethics. Educate, interviews, screens and explains imaging and safety procedures to patients regarding the biological effects of radiation and/or magnetic field protection and safety prior to beginning any imaging procedure to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation. Position patient on imaging table and utilizes immobilization devices as warranted for safety or to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by a Physician and following protocols developed by a Radiologist. Administer contrast media orally or in intravenous administration according to Radiologist and/or Pharmacy guidelines Monitor patient during procedures either through direct contact, by the use of two-way voice communication or through control room window and/or closed circuit TV screen. Practice universal safety precautions, radiation protection techniques and magnetic field education to minimize exposure to patient, self and staff.
Your experience
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: Associate's degree (A. A.) or diploma from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training. ARRT certification Additional certification required within 18 months of hire Current Montana State Licensure BLS certification Your next move
Now that you know more about being an Imaging Tech II – Cath Lab on our team we hope you’ll join us. At St. James Healthcare you’ll reaffirm every day how much you love this work, and why you were called to it in the first place.
