HR Business Partner--East-EMMC

Job description          

Summary The HR Business Partner serves as the on-site human resources partner for management and employees to grow, engage and develop the workforce and apply and interpret human resources policies in a fair and consistent manner while serving as a liaison to specialty centers of expertise at the system level.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree rquired. Two plus years of relevant experience PHR, SPHR or other professional certification preferred Unionized workforce experience strongly preferred.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of management and organization strategies. Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations impacting area of responsibility. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Strong presentation development and delivery skills. Excellent customer service skills Excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbal Strong critical thinking and organizational skills. Ability to function in a multi-dimensional organization with competing priorities Ability to train and influence outside of a direct reporting chain Ability to manage a heavy workload and self-direct between tasks
Essential Functions
Engage employees and managers to improve patient care and safety. Promote a positive and inclusive environment to foster growth and satisfaction of staff. Work in a team setting with other Business Partners for consistent application of policies and development with HR. Interpret and provide guidance to managers and staff on human resources policies and procedures. Interpret and guide managers on the collective bargaining agreement and memorandums of agreement. Improve and build positive relationships with existing unions that represent employees. Assist in development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures. Assist in collective bargaining needs. Serve as management support for delegated areas of responsibility to help navigate employees' needs. Conduct and complete thorough investigations. Develop reliable and complete documentation. Develop and maintain an affirmative action program; file EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Create, participate in, and conduct targeted trainings to meet the business needs. Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing the selected solution, coaching, and counseling managers and employees. Maintain employee Human Resources files and perform audits for completeness. Perform personnel actions in accordance with policy and provide advice managers on the same. Complete special projects as directed. Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising leadership on action needed.
Physical Demands Sedentary: exerting up to 10lbs occasionally, sitting most of the time and only brief periods of standing and walking.
