Description

We are recruiting for a People Services Specialist to join our Human Resources Department in Louisville, Kentucky.
Job Summary: Provides oversight, coordination and guidance related to all aspects of enterpise-wde background check process. Researches regulations and laws pertainging to background checks and consults with Legal Department to determine applicability to Kindred. Key relationship manager with background check and other vendors as designated.
Essential Functions: (Those functions that the individual who holds the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation). Investigates, researches and applies state and federal laws and regulations as they pertain to criminal background checks and drug screens Consults with Legal Department regarding background check policy interpretation Documents background check requirements by state Keeps abreast of state and federal background check regulation changes; monitors updates and newsletters for changes that affect background check Reviews and dispositions enterprise-wide background checks results that require Corporate HR review Liaisons with Shared Services Department to interpret policies and to escalate issues with background check vendor Participates in weekly Support Center Orientation Plans Support Center Service Awards ceremonies Assist with special projects as needed Performs other administrative duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations: Demonstrated understanding of various HR disciplines and how they are applied to Employee Relations area Demonstrated knowledge of progressive HR practices Strong verbal and written communications skills Consultative/negotiation skills Analytical, planning and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Must have good and regular attendance. Approximate percent of time required to travel: Less than 10 Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Communication or related field Licenses/Certification: PHR/SPHR preferred Experience: 3-5 years experience in HR with working knowledge of backgrund check processes Prefer experience in large multi-site company Depending on a candidate’s qualifications, this position may be filled at a different level.
