KARL STORZ OR1 Division is seeking candidates with advanced-level technical expertise for the role of Application Support Specialist. The Application Support Specialist will ensure successful implementation and support of EHR Interfaces with OR1 products and provide remote and onsite server infrastructure support of network-based deliverables. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a project management/support role with techncial skill requirements.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Ensures successful implementation and support of EHR Interfaces with OR1 products using all or more methods listed below:
Act as Project Manager for EHR system deployments
Document all site requirements and configurations
Perform site installations
Provide training support as necessary
Coordinate with customer, engineering, and regional OR1 Support staff as necessary from implementation planning to post install service
Provides remote and onsite server infrastructure support including but not limited to:
Networked KARL STORZ OR1 applications and devices
Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows Server 2012 R2
Physical / virtual servers
SQL and Firebird Server/database
Internet Information Services Manager
Assists OR1 Marketing / OR1 Sales in completing RFPs, RFIs, BAA, and other related documents; completes Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and other documents from customer related to network-based product deliverables. Responds to high level technical questions on those documents.
Works closely with OR1 Engineering to learn the current and future product development deliverables.
AA/AS technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong technical knowledge of HL7 Messages/Interface, DICOM, EMR/EHR Workflow, Windows server environment and network topology
Minimum 2-5 years with EHR Interface experience, working with HL7 messages and/or DICOM
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele including good written and oral communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills
Ability to perform complex and time-critical tasks with optimum effectiveness and efficiency with little or no supervision in high-pressure situations
Strong customer service orientation
Attention to detail and adherence to SOPs and Work Instructions.
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed documentation
Ability to travel up to 20% throughout US, Canada and Mexico
Certifications: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) , MCSA: Windows Server, or equivalent certification are preferred.
Experience with network switches, VPN, LAN / WAN, and VM are preferred
