Accounting Representative

Job description          

Will perform transactional support associated with purchasing for Campus Recreational Sports Bloomington. These tasks include, but are not limited to, the processing of requisitions, purchase orders, payment requests, hospitality codes, vendor set-ups, ordering of supplies, attaching proof of receipt as backup for payment of invoices made in BUY.IU, matching internal billings to Memos of Understanding with other IU departments, check requests, travel reimbursements, and many others. The incumbent will continually track budgetary information in order to coordinate, verify, and approve many operational transactions which includes updating asset management data base to assist with equipment replacement planning. Required Qualifications High school degree or GED and two years of accounting experience with purchasing and accounts payable. Experience in a university setting preferred. Knowledge of accounting / bookkeeping procedures. Excellent computer skills with experience in Excel and databases. Good organization and communication skills. Ability to analyze financial records. Ability to work independently with critical thinking about improvement of systems and processes. Ability to work well under pressure and meet stringent deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Proficient with KFS, BUY.IU and Chrome River systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook. Knowledge of University accounting policies and procedures. Experience with IU Foundation and IU computer systems.
