The Labor Relations Manager is the primary contact for managers, supervisors, and employees for employee relations and bargaining contract issues as they relate to bargaining unit employees. Position includes recruiting new bargaining unit employees.
Provide advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding interpretation of union contract language, grievances, coaching and discipline.
Conducts investigations and maintains disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Represent the Company at Shop Committee meetings and process grievances through Step 3. Involvement in Step 4 grievances.
Coordinate hiring procedures for Bargaining Unit employees as required.
Administer the Bargaining Unit Attendance Policy and FMLA for union employees.
Assist legal department with employee lawsuits, complaints and employment charges.
Assist in preparing for arbitration cases.
Administer State training grants.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field, plus 10 years' manufacturing Labor Relations experience.
15 years' manufacturing Labor Relations experience in lieu of degree.
Broad understanding of employment laws and regulations.
Working knowledge of Federal and State Labor Laws.
Thorough knowledge of the Family and Medical Leave Act.
Ability to work effectively with external organizations to accomplish goals.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to interrelate with a wide range of clients.
Working knowledge of Kronos and Oracle HCM Cloud, preferred.
