Controlled Substance Management Coordinator FT Days

Job description          

Overview The Controlled Substances Management Coordinator will support the reduction of risk in controlled substance management through the execution of inventory recovery and diversion/theft prevention and reduction programs. The coordinator will develop and participate in the workflow and processes to prevent pharmacy controlled substance inventory loss through comprehensive audits of inventory, random reconciliations of inventory for controlled substance medications, and analysis of trends. The coordinator will monitor, optimize, and maintain departmental automated dispensing cabinet systems functionality to assure proper controlled substance use. This position will develop systems utilizing current ADC technology to optimize current automation capacity to ensure proper controlled substance management and control, detect unusual controlled substance activity at the level of the ADC, and maintain the correct controlled substance inventory. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education High-school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience One year of acute care hospital experience or (preferred)
Req. Certification/Licensure Graduate of Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Current State of California Technician License. Current and maintain CPR certification (BCLS Card from AHA) within 30 days of hire
Skills: Other Foster/promote a positive, professional image Sensitivity to intercultural relations and diversity
Aptitude: Req./Pref. Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements from Board of Pharmacy (BOP), California Department of Health (CDPH), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), and Joint Commission Skilled in Drug Information and operational efficiency Effective in multitasking with focused diligence Adapt to new and innovative technologies
Software Windows applications, required Word-processing, required Electronic Health Record (EHR) e.g. CPSI,AutomatedDispensing Cabinet e.g. Omnicell, Lexicomp, and navigate the intranet (COMPASS) within 3 months of hire date
