Jr. Interior Designer: High-end Residential Design/Build Company Saratoga
Timeline Design is an award winning, high-end residential Design/Build Company located in Saratoga. Our core competency is to produce remarkable designs and build complex projects in record time. We have experienced significant growth each year for the past 3 years and are looking for Interior Designers to help us continue our ascent.
Develop the interior design tailored to each client's style and budget. Function as primary client contact during the design phase. Maintain project momentum.
Work with clients to create designs, do space planning and sketches to portray design concepts that meet the Design Program of the client.
Be the client's advocate through the design phase of the project.
Maintain constant and respectful communication with the client throughout the project.
Coordinate with the architecture, production, and estimating departments and other associates as needed to develop a design that meets the client's specifications and budget and to help track the correct implementation of the design in the field.
Assess/understand the client's style and functional needs; Introduce materials and selections that will fit the client. Aid the client as needed on the different finishes and appliances by presenting options or traveling with the client to different local vendors.
Meet on a regular basis with clients most often, weekly, take and email minutes to the client.
Be able to direct your client to get to closure on decisions. Provide the reassurance and design options your client needs to make decisions.
Establish and maintain good relationships with our vendors so you can source materials for clients easily and in a timely fashion.
Be able to file your information and follow Timeline's standards on-line and in binders.
Work as part of a designer team, sometimes partnering with other designers on projects or assisting other designers meet their deadlines.
Review scopes of work and work with estimating on client budgets.
Be able to accept feedback on your design and give feedback to other designers.
Create client presentations to clearly communicate design intent as needed or requested by client in 20/20 and CAD.
Follow the Timeline Design project process; own and deliver hand-offs to meet deadlines.
Support Sales in customer visits.
Work collaboratively with other designers and other departments.
Be able to specify and order various types and brands of cabinets
Produce complete interior design drawings and documentation, including plans, interior elevations, details, specifications and owner selected components Green Sheet
Assist production staff as needed during construction
Oversee and mentor support staff
Be open to training that increases your depth of knowledge in new materials and design innovations/trends.
Provide accurate, detailed timecards.
Be able to manage multiple client projects, meeting commitments and project department deadlines. Be able to prioritize among deliverables.
Be willing to work with technology; we use Co-Construct in-house, Houzz, Pinterest.
QC of interior design drawings and documentation
Help manage interior design resource library
Help prepare projects for various local design competitions such as NARI and NKBA.
Maintain professional certifications.
Assist in company marketing events like open houses.
Own and assist in team process improvement efforts.
Represent Timeline Design in the community.
Knowledge and Skills:
Able to design and understand aspects of architecture, read plans, understand structural concepts, etc
Proficient in interior space planning
Proficient in 20/20 and/or CAD, Revit
Proficient in cabinet ordering
Strong time management skills, product knowledge and a sense of work ownership
Knowledgeable in residential building codes
Able to prioritize and concurrently work on multiple projects and maintain deadlines
Able to organize and effectively communicate both in written and verbal format
Able to anticipate potential project breakdowns and eliminate them before they become problems
Able to work independently and as a team
Strong computer skills Microsoft Office Suite
Have a pleasant attitude to work with.
Education and Experience:
Interior design with minimum 8 years high-end residential experience
Degree in interior design or architecture preferred
Work Env: dress business professional as a designer.
