Summary of Job Duties
The Fiscal Support Specialist is responsible for receipting student payments, departmental deposits, student and non-student lockbox payments, student loan payments, and student organization deposits. This position assists with refund/travel/payroll checks pickup process; manages and balances a cash drawer; completes daily closing activities in a timely manner; and provides responses to students, parents, and other University offices regarding inquiries about billing statements, financial aid refunds, account breakdowns, and/or other information requested related to UAConnect transactions. The Fiscal Support Specialist provides backup for processes in student accounts area such as daily invoice processing, answering phones, stop payment requests and RSO check printing requests and monitors BankMobile Card Import and Undeliverable Reports. Other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
At least two years of bookkeeping, basic accounting, billing, or related experience

Banking or heavy volume cash-handling experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of database accounting and management principles
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations of assigned section
Knowledge of computers and software application programs
Knowledge of customer service techniques
Ability to record fiscal data and manipulate data to generate complex reports and documents
Ability to conduct research and perform basic quantitative quality assurance reviews
Employee needs to be able to communicate using clear communication skills which could include but not be limited to the following methods: personal face-to-face contact; using e-mail or other written correspondence; through telephone contact
