Chemical Operator (ACDL w/Hazmat required), O&M BP CIC Prudhoe Bay

Job description          

The Chemical Operator – Batch Treatment primary responsibility is to provide chemical injection of Corrosion Inhibitor at individual well locations. This is completed by the Operator driving a Tractor with fixed bed and tank to enable pumping of corrosion inhibitor into each designated well head at the predetermined rates. In addition to chemical treatments, additional continuous systems will be monitored by the Operator. Performing operations and maintenance activities in wells, manifold buildings, and related to the chemical systems will be required as needed. This position assists engineers and drillers in developing, improving, and testing chemical plant processes and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED) Monitor Chemical System’s performance and operations, able to trouble shoot system component issues and complete minor maintenance as needed Operate a Tractor with fixed bed/ box containing transport bulk tank Operate transfer pump on box truck to pump chemical into designated well heads across the Prudhoe Bay oil field as required Adjust flow rates and operate valves, pumps, to feed chemical Monitor all chemical equipment and recommend modifications and changes as required. Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure proper equipment operation. Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area. Provide routine maintenance and cleaning of box truck, equipment and pumps to maintain operational equipment Familiar with and able to complete Swagelok training to complete system maintenance Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures. Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years related training and experience required, specific to operating tractor trailer and operating pressurized pumping systems. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS Commercial driver’s license with hazardous material endorsement required. Driving record must meet Company requirements. North Slope Training Cooperative certification may be required.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements: Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy. Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing. Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions. Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam. Required to complete and successfully pass a background check. Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location. The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
