The Division of Public Assistance, Program Integrity & Analysis/Quality Assessment Office is recruiting for full-time Eligibility Quality Control Technician I (EQCT I) positions located in Anchorage.
The Eligibility Quality Control Technician I (EQCT I) performs a comprehensive analysis of case records and computer data, including interviews with the client and others who may verify the required eligibility information. The case audits, and the report of findings are highly detailed. This process is closely regulated and monitored by Federal Agencies and State of Alaska Legislative audit.

This position audits the State of Alaska Division of Public Assistance Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, Alaska Temporary Assistance Program, Adult Public Assistance, Medicaid, MAGI, and Child Care Assistance cases for accuracy of eligibility determinations and payment of benefits. This position requires a thorough understanding of the above listed programs' eligibility and payment policies.

This position may conduct audits of other Public Assistance Programs as required by the Division or the Quality Assessment unit needs.

Relying on strong interview and written communication skills, using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access, the EQCT will provide written narratives documenting the findings of their audits. The EQCT will submit their findings into a Federal Database for approval.

Our ideal candidate will have the following strengths: Work experience and performance demonstrating excellent eligibility policy knowledge and payment determinations of the State of Alaska Public Assistance programs listed in the above description; Demonstrated performance indicating a high accuracy rate of eligibility determinations and benefit issuance of programs listed in the above description; Excellent workplace organizational skills, attention to detail, and multi- tasking ability; Ability to produce high quality work and meet rigid time frames; Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills; Possess the ability to work independently, and with minimal supervision; Ability to handle stressful situations with aplomb; Be willing and able to visit clients in their homes to conduct in person interviews. This includes year round road system travel operating a State fleet vehicle or rental car; Be willing and able to travel to remote communities in Alaska requiring flight in small aircraft.
Special Notice:
Relocation funds are not available. Ability to travel is a job requirement. Traveling to remote areas in small aircraft, and the operation of State vehicles and rental cars is required for this position. More than 30% of the work assignments require interviewing Public Assistance clients in their home, including rural Alaska locations. A valid current driver license must be maintained for this position. Some program policy training can be provided. Working conditions require significant independence and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of journey level experience as an Eligibility Technician II with the State of Alaska or its equivalent with another employer.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED INFORMATION:
