The Department of Education and Early Development, Division of Finance and Support Services, Child Nutrition Programs section is recruiting for a long-term, non-permanent Program Coordinator I to administer the Farm-to-School Program.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to support the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development by providing content management of the Farm-to-School Program and overall leadership and coordination of activities by working with state and local governmental and non-governmental partners to increase utilization of Alaska grown, harvested, and processed food and promote garden-based educational resources and activities.

The incumbent will be the point of contact for counterparts with Childhood Nutrition Program sponsors, non-governmental agencies, and community stakeholders active in enhancing the utilization of locally produced foods in Alaska schools/programs. This position does require the incumbent to travel within Alaska several times per year.

We are seeking an applicant with some or all of the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience: Experience with clearly communicating program information to agencies, organizations, and individuals both orally and in writing Experience in developing and presenting training materials Experience with local food systems Experience with federal procurement requirements Experience in grant writing and grant management Proficiency in standard computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as experience with database systems Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
AND
Two years of professional experience assisting with planning, coordinating, and implementing administrative controls, work processes, and procedures for a program, project, business, or organization. OR SUBSTITUTION:
Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equals one month of work experience). There is no substitution for the required two years of professional experience. OR SUBSTITUTION:
A master's degree from an accredited college in a field closely related to the specific field of the program may substitute for the required experience (2 semester hours or 3 quarter hours equal one month of experience).

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the minimum qualifications listed above. If utilizing this education, you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs; or an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the post-secondary institution. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
